… having been created by the famous cellist and professor Marin Cazacu and under the guidance of conductor Cristian Mandeal, the Romanian Youth Orchestra is more than just an orchestra. It brings together the brightest musicians from Romania for a unique creative experience, in the common pursuit of musical excellence.
The ensemble has been a member of the European Federation of National Youth Orchestras – EFNYO since November 2011, the Romanian Youth Orchestra having performed in prestigious venues including Romanian Athenaeum, Radio Hall, the George Enescu International Festival, l’Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Ravello Festival, Mahler Festival in Toblach, March Music Day in Ruse, Youth Orchestras Festival in Milan, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Berlin Konzerthaus, Berlin Philharmonic, Konzerhaus and Musikverein in Vienna, Grande Salle Pierre Boulez in Paris, Bozar in Bruxelles and Jazz at Lincoln Center New York.
Seen as a project that has reached full maturity, the Romanian Youth Orchestra continues its journey through the world of quality music, garnering international recognition, and is an ensemble educated in a spirit of professionalism within an exceptional musical setting.
