Lector at the cello class of the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and in addition to his solo activity, Octavian is the organiser of the New Hope series of charity concerts – an extremely resonant project in Romania.

Winner of numerous competitions in Romania and abroad, Octavian has performed on four continents alongside famous names in the field of classical music and on renowned stages such as the Musikverein in Vienna, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Philharmonie Berlin, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and the Luxembourg Philharmonie.

He graduated the National University of Music in Bucharest under the guidance of cellist Marin Cazacu, studied at the Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique in Paris with Professors Roland Pidoux and Xavier Philips, and at the Kronberg Academy in Germany where he was tutored by cellists Frans Helmerson and Gary Hoffman.
