Yoko Hasegawa
Director of the Cello Association in Japan and Associate Professor at Toho the Gakuen University’s Faculty of Music.
Yoko Hasegawa is one of Japan’s leading cello performer and winner of many awards including the: Rostropovich International Competition Special Award, Matsumura Award, Kirishima International Music Festival Award, Mobil Music Award Encouragement Award, Nippon Steel Music Award Fresh Artist Award, Arion Award Jury Encouragement Award and Hideo Saito Memorial Fund Award.
She recorded CDs with various repertory: J. Brahms – Cello Sonatas, J. S. Bach – Cello Solo Suites, M. P. Mussorgsky – Pictures at an Exhibition, E. Elgar – Cello Concerto and F. Chopin – Tribute.
The latest CD recording of all Beethoven’s works was released by Japan Acoustic Records in 2022 and was selected as – Recording Arts Special Recommendation.
Yoko Hasewaga will perform within the CellEAST Festival on May 7th, 8th and 12th 2024.
