Cello Professor at Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and, in addition to his solo activity, he is the Organizer of the New Hope series of charity concerts – an extremely resonant cultural project in Romania.

Winner of numerous competitions in Romania and abroad, Octavian has performed on four continents alongside famous names in the field of classical music and on renowned stages such as: Musikverein in Vienna, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Luxembourg Philharmonie.

He graduated the National University of Music in Bucharest under the guidance of Professor Marin Cazacu, studied at the Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique in Paris with Professors Roland Pidoux and Xavier Philips, also participated at the Kronberg Academy in Germany where he was tutored by cellists Frans Helmerson and Gary Hoffman.

Octavian Lup will perform within the CellEAST Festival on May 12^th and 14^th 2024.
