Krzysztof Karpeta
Vice-president of the Art of Music Foundation, which supports young cellists and annually organizes the International Cello Academy in Nysa, board member of the Bridges of Culture Association, Founder and member of the Polish Cello Quartet, Professor at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and Artistic Director of the Felix Mendelssohn International Chamber Music Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój.
He specializes in playing various string instruments such as: modern cello, historical cello, viola da gamba, violone and bass guitar. Since 2007 the artist has been active in the field of early music. Together with his wife – Julia Karpeta, they form the Fernabucco Ensemble which is specializes in baroque music but also modern repertory dedicated to them.
As professional musician, Krzysztof performs with various outstanding early music ensembles such as: Il Giardino Armonico, Arte dei Suonatori, the Wrocław Baroque Ensemble and Holland Baroque.
Krzysztof has made recordings for: CD Accord, DUX, Musicon, Chandos and Outside Music. His recordings have received the Fryderyk Award in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Krzysztof Karpeta will perform within the CellEAST Festival on May 8th, 12th and 13th 2024.
