Erich Türk
Since 1995, Erich Türk has been teaching the classes of organ, harpsichord, cypher bass, organology and chamber music at the Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy in in Cluj-Napoca, and since 2021 he is the Director of the Department for Keyboard Instruments and Instrumental Ensembles, and PhD coordinator within the same music academy. He is the Founder of the TransylvANTIQs record label, which promotes the Romanian early Wallachian music and culture.
Erich studied organ with Ursula Philippi at the Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca and with Michael Radulescu at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He also studied harpsichord with Ilton Wjuniski in Paris, with Gordon Murray in Vienna, and also participated at many masterclasses for organ, harpsichord and basso continuo in Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland and Moscow.
As a soloist and member of the Transylvania Baroque Ensemble and the Balkan Baroque Band, he performed many recitals in Europe, USA, Israel, and made numerous recordings for radio and TV, also a DVD documentary with the Transylvania Baroque Ensemble.
Erich is the winner of the 2nd Prize and the Audience Prize at the Organ International Competition within the MA Festival Brugge in 2000.
