Artyom Ioanisyan

Artyom Ioanisyan is an Armenian cellist recognized internationally for his expressive performances. He has appeared at numerous festivals and competitions, performing solo recitals and with orchestras including the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Armenian National Symphony Orchestra, and Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also recorded with the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, featuring works by Mendelssohn.

A dedicated chamber musician, Artyom was a member of the Khachaturian Trio (2020–2022), performing extensively in Armenia and abroad. He has studied under prominent cellists such as T. Demenga, S. Isserlis, A. Gerhardt, and T. Grossenbacher, completing his Bachelor’s degree at the Bern University of the Arts (2022–2025, Prof. Denis Severin) and continuing his studies at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Jens Peter Maintz since 2025.

Artyom plays a 19th-century cello modeled after a Tecchler instrument, generously entrusted to him by the Derron family.
